Lexington, Missouri is an antique-hunter's paradise with numerous shops selling both American and European antiquities line Main Street. A stroll through the downtown heart will give a sense of the town's historic importance, as many buildings and sites are commemorated in the National Register of Historic Places. Lexington was an outfitter stop for the Oregon and Santa Fe trails, and the firm that founded the Pony Express was headquartered here. Papa Jack's Pizza
The family-run Papa Jack's Pizza serves pizzas, calzones and sandwiches on homemade dough in a casual cafeteria setting. Riley's Irish Pub
The family-friendly Riley's Irish Pub was built in the 1890s, and retains its old stained glass windows, tile floor, back bar and tin ceilings. The pub serves classic favorites like reuben sandwiches, BBQ chicken wings, salads, pizzas and pastas. Homemade desserts include fresh apple pie and German chocolate cake. Riley's is located less than a mile from the Battle of Lexington Historic Site, and it is open seven days a week.
