One of the ways that a person can make money is with a welding route. In rural areas, a welder could go into local feed stores and work out an arrangement with the owner or manager. In return for offering reduced rates for items that might need to be welded, the feed store owner might let customers drop off items that need repair. Then, once a week or once a month, the welder can pick the items up, repair them and either deliver them to the owners or drop them off at the feed store and collect his money.

Making money as a certified welder depends upon location. For example, in areas where there is construction work being done, such as in Baton Rouge, job openings for welders are plentiful. Self-Investment
Welding equipment costs money. In order to get the best jobs, a certified welder needs the proper equipment. If his generator doesn't produce enough electricity, he won't be able to get the best weld possible.
