Organization is Key
1. The first step in any job is organization. Lay out orderly all mounting hardware easily identifiable or marked. Set hanging pot rack aside for the time being. Wear safety goggles throughout the job.
2. Clean the area before starting. Take extra care to confirm the area you'll be working not only is clean, but free from any obstacles.
3. Lay drop cloth down over the floor and over counters to catch falling debris from drilling.
Find studs and drill holes
4. Carefully set a ladder underneath where you plan to hang the pot holder. Make sure the ladder is even and steady before climbing.
5. For this step, you will need the stud finder and pencil. Use the stud finder to find the studs in the ceiling, and mark the area where each stud is.
6. Using dimensions from a hanging pot holder, measure and mark each space on the ceiling to determine where to put pilot holes for mounting holes. Carefully climb the ladder and drill each stud you marked, using a drill bit slightly smaller than screw on mounding hardware.
Mount hardware and hang pot holder
7. This step requires the screw-hooks for mounting hardware. Climb the ladder and screw each mounting screw into a drilled hole.
8. Hang the pot holder, using mounting brackets provided with mounting hardware. Once you hang the pot holder, use the level to ensure that each corner aligns correctly as necessary.
9. Ensure that the pot holder hangs securely. Carefully hang pots and pans on the pot holder.
