Make A Barbed Wire Frame In Photoshop Pro

Make a Barbed Wire Frame in Photoshop Pro

Adobe PhotoShop Pro is a photo-editing package that allows you to open digital images and make improvements. With this software, you can adjust colors or focus, make sizing changes or make a border, all to enhance your original photograph. The brush option in PhotoShop will create new images on top of your old ones with just a few paint strokes of your pointer. By downloading specially designed brushes, you can create different types of frames, including barbwire. With some basic understanding of PhotoShop and its features, adding a frame of any style to a digital photograph is a snap.

Instructions

1. Go to the Adobe website, and download the brush set titled Fences Brushes. Unzip the file with extractor software, such as Winzip.

2. Open Adobe PhotoShop on your computer.

3. Click "Window" at the top of the screen, and place a check mark next to "Tools" if the tools palette is not visible.

4. Select the "Brush" tool from the tools palette. Click the small arrow that appears next to the brush; this will allow you to choose the brush.

5. Click the small arrow on the right side of the dialog box to locate your new brush set. Press the "OK" button when PhotoShop prompts you to confirm the brush set.

6. Move to the "File" menu at the top of the screen, and select "New" to open a fresh canvas. Set the size parameters from the canvas; 800 pixels wide and 800 pixels high would be a good start. You can adjust this later if necessary.

7. Open the "File" menu again, and choose "Open." Select the photo you wish to frame. This will open your image on a separate canvas and leave the new one open.

8. Adjust the size of your photo to accommodate a frame. For instance, you might want a 600-pixel-wide photo to fit on the 800-pixel canvas you created. This will give you room for the frame on all sides.

9. Copy the resized image to the fresh canvas you created in Step 6. Press CTRL+C on your keyboard, then click on the blank canvas and press CRTL+V. This will put a copy of the image on your canvas.

10. Open the layers palette by clicking "Window" at the top of the screen and checking the "Layers" pane.

11. Create a new layer for your frame. Select the "New" layer icon from the layers palette. Click on the new layer after it appears on the palette.

12. Move to the tools palette. Click on the arrow next to the brush icon, and select the barbed-wire brush.

13. Set the width of your brush by moving the slide to the right to make it larger or to the left to make it smaller.

14. Choose the fill color for the brush. Click on the foreground color box, and select the color.

15. Move to the canvas. Put your pointer on the portion of the photo you wish to frame. For instance, if you want the frame on the outer border of the photo, move to any outer edge of the photo.

16. Click the left button on your mouse; the border will appear around the photo.

17.Make adjustments if needed. Click "Edit" and then "Undo;" this will remove the border, and you can make any necessary adjustments, such as color or size, and reapply the frame.

18. Save your photo once your border is complete.
