Hang A Planter

Hang a Planter

Flowers are very pretty in and around the garden and porch. Hanging plants can add a colorful touch to the outside decor and free up floor space. There are different ways to hang planters, whether they are round or square. Choose the best method for your individual needs. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Make or purchase a macrame hanging basket holder. Macrame hanging basket holders come in different sizes in order to hold different sized pots.

2. Use the plastic pots that have chain or plastic hangers attached to them. Hang this type of planter in the same way by a ceiling hook or nail.

3. Place a shepherd's hook in the lawn or garden. This type has legs that are pressed into the ground and can be purchased to hold one or more plants at a time.

4. Attach a planter arm to the side of the house or porch to hang planters from. These are usually wrought iron and will either be plain or decorative. Be sure to anchor them securely to a wall, either directly into brick or into a wall stud if the house has siding.

5. Attach a planter box under the windowsill to hold multiple types of plants in one box. Use lag bolts to securely hold the planter to the house.
