Remove Black Marks From Kitchen Sink

Pots and pans can easily leave an ugly black mark on your kitchen sink, simply by rubbing against it. These marks are especially unsightly if they are on a light colored sink, such as a white porcelain one. Follow these steps to remove black marks from a sink. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Spray the sink lightly with bleach and let it sit for 15 minutes. Provide adequate ventilation during this time, and stay away from the kitchen. After the time is up, rinse all the bleach out of the sink.

2. Apply baking soda or borax to a scouring pad and scrub at the black marks until they come off. This may take a while, as these marks are more difficult to get off than to put on in the first place. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from the abrasive powder.

3. Try a powdered kitchen cleanser if the baking soda or borax didn't work. Alternatively, use an abrasive paste cleanser. Rinse the soda or borax from the sink. If you are using a powdered cleanser, add some water to it to make a paste and apply it to the sink in a semi thick layer. Let this sit for about 30 minutes and then scrub with the scouring pad. Rinse completely. If you still see the black marks, decide whether Step 2 or 3 worked better than the other did, then repeat it to get better results.

4. Rub with the grain if your sink is made of a fabricated stainless steel. You will scratch the sink, so decide how important removing the stains really is.
