Diy Tree Bench Centerpieces

The tree is normally the centerpiece of a tree bench.

A centerpiece consists of an object of ornamental value that has been placed in the center of another object, such as a vase of flowers placed in the center of a dining room table. The centerpiece of a tree bench is often a tree, hence the word "tree" in "tree bench." With a little creativity you can spice up the look of your bench by allowing your bench to enclose something other than a tree. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Bistro Table

1. Calculate the circumference of the free space (the area where the tree would normally be placed) at the center of the tree bench. Do this by measuring from one side of the bench's free space to the other. This is your diameter. Multiply the diameter by pi (3.14) to get the circumference.

2. Choose a circular bistro-style table for the center of the tree bench. The table should complement the materials used in the bench. For example, pair a cedar tree bench with a stone table, as you will be complementing the cedar with another natural element, stone.

3. Calculate the tabletop's circumference; to be sure it is small enough to fit in the center of the tree bench.

4. Add a lighted tabletop umbrella, so you can utilize the tree bench throughout the day and into the night.

Garden

5. Spray grass-friendly paint onto the ground, creating a circle that is slightly smaller than the circumference at the center of the tree bench.

6. Plant a miniature, circular garden inside the circle you created. Make sure to choose flowers that will grow to be taller than the bench, as smaller flowers might be overshadowed by the bench. Examples of tall flowers include sunflowers, gladiolas and hollyhocks. These flowers feature 24- to 36-inch spires and boast show-stopping colors in shades of pink, yellow, orange or red.

7. Allow the flowers time to take root and thrive before placing the tree bench around them, as they will have to cope with partial sun once the bench is in place.

8. Place the tree bench over your garden spot. You may need help for this step, if the bench is heavy.

Fountain

9. Choose a tier or pedestal fountain to place inside the tree bench, as these fountains are tall enough not to be hidden by the bench. Measure the widest part of the fountain to be sure that its width is smaller than the width of the opening in the tree bench.

10. Keep similar design styles together, by making sure the tree bench and the fountain follow similar themes. For example, if you have a Victorian-style wrought iron tree bench featuring ornate scroll work and decoration, then choose a garden fountain in wrought iron, marble or bronze that features swans, cherubs, lion heads, angels or maidens.

11. Place the fountain where you want it on your property. Be sure it is close to a power source, unless your fountain runs on solar power.

12. Assemble the tree bench around the statue. It is much easier to construct the tree bench around the statue than to place the statue inside the center of the tree bench, as statues are generally made of stone, bronze or iron and are exceedingly heavy.
