Prevent Rust From Spreading On Patio Furniture

Patio furniture is designed to sit outside through sleet, hail, rain and everything in between. It's inevitable that your metal patio furniture start to rust, and if you want to keep it, you'll need to get rid of the rust and protect it for the coming seasons. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Scuff up the rusted area on the furniture using the red (medium) scuffing pad. This will get the bulk of the loose rust off of the furniture. Scuffing pads are available where auto or marine supplies are sold.

2. Scrub the rusted area with the wire brush, which should eradicate the rust from the metal. You may have to put some extra effort into this step, but the result will be worth it.

3. Clean up the area with a rag, making sure to get all dust off of the surface.

4. Apply the spray paint to the furniture. Spray the first coat very lightly and allow the paint to set. Once it's dried, apply a second and then a third coat. This will protect the furniture from future rusting.
