Clean Exterior Lighting

Exterior light fixtures don't get the care they should. Exposed to the elements, they often are covered in dust and dirt. Cleaning outdoor lights makes your landscaping look neater and it also makes the lighting at night brighter by as much as 20 percent. While it's not an everyday chore, cleaning your exterior lights twice year will keep them looking much better. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions


1. Turn off the exterior light fixtures and allow the bulbs to cool.


2. Dampen a rag. Remove the light bulbs from their sockets and wipe down the the bulbs with the rag to remove dust. Place the bulb back in the socket.


3. Spray glass cleaner on the rag and wipe down any glass on the exterior light fixtures.


4. Wipe dust and dirt off the metal parts of your exterior light fixtures with a damp cloth. Use 1 tsp. of metal polish on each exterior fixture if they are dull. Rub the polish into the fixture gently with the cloth.
