Clean a Home Comfort 1930 Wood Cook Stove


The Home Comfort 1930 wood stove is a wood-burning stove that is still available today. Since the stoves are still in existence and work, cleaning the stove and removing rust is one of the ways to maintain these old stoves. Instructions


1. Scrub off any rust. Use steel wool or a scrubbing pad to get rid of surface rust stains.


2. Apply mineral oil with a paper towel. Wait 10 minutes.Use oil for difficult rust stains.


3. Scrub the rust and oil. Use a scrubbing pad.


4. Wipe off the oil and the rust with the paper towels.


5. Make a paste. Mix together 2 parts table salt with 1 part lime juice suggests EarthEasy.com. Apply the paste to the stove for non-toxic home cleaning. Wait 2 to 3 hours for the paste to work on the dirt, grime and rust.


6. Scrub the paste. Use a scrubbing pad or steel wool.


7. Clean up the area. Wipe the stove clean, and dry with paper towels.


8. Sandblast the stove. Use a sandblaster for extensive cleaning and rust removal. Hire a professional sandblaster or rent or buy a sandblaster from a home improvement store. Use the sandblasting yourself only if you have experience.
