Decorate For A Tuscan Holiday

Decorate for a Tuscan holiday.

Tuscany is known for its beauty, history and culture and the Tuscan people are known to be warm and welcoming. Most Tuscan holidays and celebrations occur in the summer and fall and are based around wines, truffles, olive oil and chestnuts. When decorating for a Tuscan holiday, it is important to utilize some of the elements evocative of Tuscany.

Instructions

1. Find copper pots at your local stores or yard sales. People who live in Tuscany often decorate their homes with large copper pots. Place them around your house--on the dining table, counters and side tables.

2. Fill the copper pots with artificial vines or other greenery. Grape vines grow in Tuscany, so they are often used for decoration in celebrations and holidays. Clusters of artificial grapes can add to the effect.

3. Fill in the corners of your home with topiary trees and plants. Tuscany is known for its green trees and shrubs, so placing them in your house will help add to the Tuscan feel.

4. Use tablecloths, napkins, dishware and any other accessories in deep red and orange colors. These colors are very common in Tuscan celebrations.

5. Search for old iron decorations. Tuscany is known for its use of iron in gates, archways, door knobs and other decorations. Items such as wrought-iron candlesticks will be the perfect blend with the copper pots, red and orange hues and plants for a Tuscan holiday theme.
