Decorate With An Iron Daybed

Daybeds are extremely handy. They provide sitting space during the day, yet can become full beds at night so that your guests can sleep comfortably. If you've just purchased an iron daybed and are wondering incorporate it into your d cor, don't despair. Perhaps one of the best things about daybeds is that they will work with almost any d cor. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Select the placement of your daybed. If it's going in the living room, you might want to put the daybed against a wall, just as you would a couch. If it's going in a den, sunroom or other location where space may be limited, make sure the spot you choose for it will allow sufficient space for the pull-out trundle, if your daybed has one.

2. Choose bedding that complements the rest of your d cor. For instance, if you're going for a warm, country home look, a quilt with frilly throw pillows or yellow, flowered daybed comforter may work well. Alternately, if your d cor is modern and clean, a black daybed cover with simple accent pillows in a bold color may be a better pick. Keep in mind that daybed covers will make a daybed look more like living room furniture than daybed comforters.

3. Add a side table or a coffee table to make the daybed look more like living room furniture. Occasional tables also provide a place to put a lamp, some picture books or a cup of coffee.

4. Accessorize the space further by placing a painting or other wall hanging above the daybed in a style that complements the daybed. Iron daybeds with clean lines tend to look more modern, while those in wrought iron tend to have a whimsical appearance. Pick wall art that goes with the particular look of your daybed.
