Decorate A Home In Americana

Create an Americana bathroom style with red towels.


Americana d cor draws inspiration from historic farmhouses and rustic country landscapes. Even if you live in the heart of a bustling city, you can decorate your home to reflect a simpler time and place. Use patriotic symbols and colors, along with vintage and folk art pieces to create Americana style. Instructions


1. Place a rustic dinner table constructed of recycled barn wood in the kitchen. Set a blue table runner down the center of the table. Fill a vintage white and indigo blue spongeware pitcher with wildflowers and use it as a simple centerpiece. Roll silverware in clean red bandannas to replace linen napkins. Display vibrant yellow and red rooster-patterned plates on a wooden wall shelf.


2. Decorate your living room with a couch and chair set upholstered in dusty blue cotton. Over the back of the couch, drape a red, white and blue plaid throw blanket. Place red decorative pillows in each couch corner. Use a vintage wood sea captain's chest as an inspired coffee table. Decorate the top of the chest with black wrought iron candlesticks filled with red taper candles.


3. Enhance a bedroom with a vintage wood four-poster bed. Top the bed with a handmade quilt featuring blue stars and patches of cream and deep red. Hang a wreath made of red tin barn stars to brighten up plain neutral-hued walls. Place a lamp featuring a rustic wrought iron base and U.S. flag designs on a nightstand.


4. Update a bathroom with a classic Americana style. Hang a barn red shower curtain and place a matching bathmat on the floor. Display red and white towels on star-shaped tin wall hooks painted a dusty blue. Enhance the wall with a simple grapevine wreath.
