Sealing Cultured Stone - Recommendations?
I finished my steps (...and there was much rejoicing ) and now they need to be sealed. I called the manufacturer here in town (Alluriam Stone, formerly Coronado) to ask what their recommendation was as to sealer. They say Enviroseal 20. The hitch is that the least I can buy is a 5 gallon bucket at $75 and I'm pretty sure that I'll only need a couple of gallons. I hate wasting stuff like that and there's the problem of discard the leftovers. Alluriam's *second* recommendation was Thompson's Water Seal. I'm not *even* going to go there . What is a good, matte finish sealer that I can buy by the gallon for this application? Sure looks better than it did ! Here is some information that may help. http://www.quikrete.com/diy/SealingC...ndMasonry.html Thank you Chris, but as I mentioned, I'm looking for specific brand name recommendations for a specifically matte finish; the Quikcrete site does not mention if it's matte or semi or gloss, and of course the site is a bit biased towards Quikcrete . If possible I would like to hear of someone's first hand experience with a recommended product. Also I need to know if it's something that can be sprayed with a pump-up sprayer as I think it would take a week or more to adequately cover all of the nooks and crannies of the cultured stone. Thanks!
