Clean Decorative Iron

Iron can be used to make decorative pieces.


Iron can be used to make decorative pieces for a household. Items, such as doors, fences, chandeliers, curtain rods, candleholders and wall hangings can all be made from iron. The decorative piece should be routinely cleaned to remove dirt, dust and residue. Never use abrasive cleaners or harsh solvents for cleaning, as it can scratch the surface or cause discoloration. Instructions


1. Fill a sink, basin or bucket with warm water and liquid dish soap


2. Dip a sponge or clean cloth into the soapy water. Wring to remove excess water.


3. Rub the cloth or sponge into the decorative iron to clean dirt, dust and residue.


4. Dampen a soft cloth in cool water. Wipe down the decorative iron to remove all soapy residue. Be sure all residue is removed, or it will look dull and cloudy.


5. Dry the decorative iron with a towel. Remove all water and moisture to prevent rust from forming.
