Remove A Steel Security Door

A security door is designed differently from ordinary doors found in homes. You can remove a steel security door yourself should you wish to replace it with another type of door. A few tools that most homes have on hand will be needed; they're available from a hardware store at a minimal cost if necessary. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Place a stepladder against the side of the steel security door to keep it from falling over. Unlock the steel security door.

2. Remove the screws along the bottom of the door with the electric screwdriver. Pull the horizontal metal header strip off the bottom of the door. Place the header strip away for safekeeping.

3. Grip the head of the hinge pin seated in the hinge attached at the bottom right edge of the door frame with a pliers. Pull the pin out of the hinge. Repeat this procedure with the hinge pins in the other hinges attached to the door frame.

4. Pull the door away from the door frame. Unscrew the hinges from the edge of the door with the electric screwdriver. Place the door away for safekeeping.

5. Remove the screws from the vertical metal header attached to the right side of the door frame with the electric screwdriver. Place the header away for safekeeping.
