Measure For Iron Security Doors

Security is an important consideration for homeowners.

Iron security doors add an extra measure of safety to the entrances of your home. Iron is a heavy, durable metal that holds up well under inclement weather conditions. It is not difficult to measure your existing door frame so you can order this security feature. These doors can add a decorative appeal to your home due to the wide variety of styles available to accentuate any home exterior. They can also add curb appeal and increase the resale value of your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Hold the tape measure across the width of the existing door and write down the exact measurement.

2. Measure the height of the door by using the tape measure to calculate the measurement from the top to the bottom of the existing door.

3. Calculate the molding width above and on either side of the door. This is the flat piece of wood around the exterior of the door frame on which the security door will mount. It is important that the flat molding is at least 1.25 inches in width.

4. Take the measurements with you when you shop for an iron security door.
