Clean Green Wrought Iron

Wrought iron furniture is available in a variety of textures and shapes.


Green wrought iron furniture is ideal for most patio and garden areas because of its strength, durability and weather resistance. You should clean outdoor wrought iron furniture at least twice a year, usually during spring and fall. Dirt, leaves and debris can build up on the furniture, making it look unattractive, so clean it using common household products. Proper cleaning can bring out its color and texture. Instructions


1. Rinse the wrought iron furniture thoroughly with a garden hose to remove any loose dirt or debris. This isn't necessary for indoor furniture.


2. Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water, and add 2 tbsp. of dish detergent.


3. Dip a cloth or sponge into the soapy water, and wring it out. Scrub the furniture starting at the top, and work your way down. Rinse the cloth or sponge in the bucket as needed to remove dirt.


4. Rinse the furniture thoroughly with a garden hose. If you're cleaning indoor furniture, empty the bucket and refill it with water. Dip a cloth into the water, and wring it out. Wipe over the furniture to remove any soap residue.


5. Allow the wrought iron furniture to air dry or dry it with a towel.
