Decorate A Large Front Porch With A Swing & Flowers

The front porch is a place to relax with family.

The space in the front of your home is a reflection of the rest of your decor. The front porch is where you are able to unwind and spend your evenings relaxing by yourself or with friends and family. With such a large amount of space on your front porch, there are a variety of aspects you must consider when working on a home decorating project of this kind. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Hang a swing on both the left and right sides of the front porch. Since you have a large amount of space, you have the ability to add to the design in a way that fits your needs. When planning on how you wish to hang the swings, you can either have them facing each other for easier entertaining or have them face the front yard to enjoy the scenery.

2. Set up an outdoor patio set on the other side of the front porch if you wish to have only one swing. This is an ideal design because it allows you to have more people outside at the same time. When choosing the furniture, check that it complements the style of the front of your house. Sit potted flowers on top of your patio table as a centerpiece.

3. Place flowers in each corner of the porch, and incorporate greenery between each colorful flower. This creates a sense of nature in the front of your home, which makes for a relaxing atmosphere where you and your family can spend time.

4. Hang baskets of colorful flowers on the top front ledge across the entire porch area. Additionally, hang more flower baskets on the front railing of the porch to create a garden of colors. Choose shades that complement the color of your home or a wide variation of colors to make your front porch look like a real garden.

5. Place container plants on both sides of each step if you do not have railing around your porch. These flowers help make your guests feel welcome.

6. Plant your container flowers in a decorative vase or urn to match the theme of your home. For instance, if you are striving for a Tuscany-inspired theme, opt for containers made out of wrought iron or terracotta.

7. Hang plants on each pillar at the top portion where it meets with the roof. This creates an illusion of added height for porches that seem short.

8. Position container plants on both sides of the swing, and choose all-weather decorative pillows for the swings that also complement the flowers surrounding them.
