Make A Decorative Gate In Photoshop

Sometimes, when you are working in graphics, you have to go beyond just editing photos or creating abstract shapes. Sometimes you have to create scenes from scratch. For example, you might have to create a yard scene for a landscaping business. One item you could add to such a scene would be a decorative gate. If you are working in Photoshop, creating this gate is fairly easy.

Instructions

1. Start Photoshop Click "File" in the menu at the top and then click "New." In the dialog that opens, go to and open a scene you have been working on to which you want to add a gate.

2. Click the "New Layer" icon on the "Layers" panel on the left. Select the "Brush" tool from the toolbar on the right. In the options, set the color and size to what you want for the bars of the gate.

3. Click the "Pen" tool from the toolbar. In the options at the top, set the mode to "Path." Use the tool to draw a path in the shape of your gate.

4. Right-click the path and click "Stroke Path." In the dialog, choose the "Brush" took and click "OK."

5. Click on the FX" icon on the bottom of the "Layers" panel. Click "Bevel and Emboss," then click "Inner Bevel" and click "OK." This will create a 3D effect on your gate. Save your work.
