Get Deionized Water

Deionized water is the water with removed ions.

Deionized water, which is water with ions and impurities removed, is similar to distilled water. Unlike distilled water, it is not evaporated and condensed and other means, such as water filtration, are used to remove the ions.

Instructions

1. Install a filtration system. A home filtration system, whether it is via the tap, a whole house filtration system or a pitcher, will remove the impurities out of the water and often removes the ions as well.

2. Go to the grocery store and buy deionized water. Deionized water or distilled water is often sold in grocery stores, usually labeled in water jugs. Distilled water is a more pure form of deionized water, having both ions and any other materials removed.

3. Buy the water from a pet store. Fish owners will sometimes use deionized water to create a very specific aquatic environment. In the case of fish owners, they buy the water and then add water supplements to match fish needs, such as adding salt. The water is readily available in most pet stores, especially if the store sells fish.
