Diy Make A Retail Clothing Display Out Of Fence Bars

This piece of fence is just begging for a new paint job and a jewelry display.

Fence bars can be used to excellent effect as a prop for creating a display. Whether you are selling high end jewelry or sporty shoes and skateboards, knowing what kind of fence to use and display it to your advantage will help you sell. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Use a fancy fence, the type with curves, names and wrought iron, to give a display a more elegant "high-class" look. These types of gates remind people of expensive mansions, so they work well for selling things like jewelry and accessories like scarfs. You could also drape light, airy dresses over them, since this type of fence looks more "feminine" than most. For a more modern look, try spray painting your fence with a vibrant, in style color, like lemon yellow, or neon pink.

2. Use a chain-link fence to give a sporty or athletic look. Be careful with this one, because it can also look "jail-like." Try to keep it to just one wall and make it clear that the fence represents something sporty, like the fence around a baseball park. A few caps and a baseball bat are sufficient props to show off running shoes, athletic tops or shorts.

3. Use a standard "white picket fence" to show off "the folks next door." You can use this image to sell all manner of things, from outdoor goods like barbecues, to mid range clothes like polo shirts and summer dresses. This is also a cute, familiar-feeling way to sell pet or children's products, since it gives the customer an impression of safety and familiarity.
