Buy Patio Furniture Directly From The Manufacturer

Consider buying direct from a patio manufacturer for a good deal.

While many patio furniture manufacturers prefer to work with distributors, some allow the public (non-resellers) to shop direct. Though you may not receive the same low price as a distributor and you usually cannot buy on credit, also referred to as a purchase order, you can go directly to the manufacturer for a selection of patio furniture items for sale before they reach stores. It may take a little more work on your end, but it can be worth it. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Locate patio manufacturers in your area. Search through home design, decor and furniture magazines for leads (check the back section for listings of advertisements from furniture manufacturers). It's smart to expand your search to your general region, such as the West Coast, rather than your immediate local area to ensure that you'll find a manufacturer's warehouse willing to sell to a consumer.

2. Navigate manufacturer websites (see Resources for a list) online as well. You may find patio manufacturers from other regions that will ship the furniture to your door via freight. Look for the words "factory direct" published on the manufacturer's website to ensure that the company does business with direct consumers. Factory direct means the product goes from the manufacturer's factory straight to the end-user --- the transaction does not require a middle man.

3. Visit local furniture and outdoor living stores and retailers that sell patio furniture to identify the brands and types of pieces you want to buy. Make a list of the brand name and manufacturer, then contact each manufacturer directly by phone to inquire about direct buy opportunities for end users or consumers and pricing information on items of interest.
