Oil A Mighty Mule Gate Opener

Mighty Mule is a leading manufacturer of automatic gate openers. The gates are installed at pasture entrances, driveways, and commercial locations. Some are single gate models, others have two gates, and others slide open. Some models are battery operated, and others have solar power options. Regardless of their size, configuration, or location, all Mighty Mule gates must be lubricated on a regular basis. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Single Gate Models

1. Apply grease to the ball bearing hinges at least four times a year. Mighty Mule recommends more frequent greasing if the gate is installed in a coastal area.

2. Clean the push-pull tube with a soft, dry cloth and apply silicone spray to it at least once a month.

3. Apply silicone spray to the front and rear gate mounts to minimize the effects of corrosion and exposure to the elements.

Dual Gate Models

4. Apply grease to the hinges at least four times a year. Increase the frequency of greasing if your dual gate system is located in a coastal area.

5. Clean the push-pull tubes with a soft, dry cloth and apply silicone spray to them at least once per month.

6. Apply silicone spray or oil to the post pivot brackets and clevis pins on a monthly basis.

Vehicular Slide Gates

7. Apply grease to the ball bearing rollers at least four times a year. Increase the lubrication frequency near coastal areas.

8. Inspect the chain to ensure that it is well lubricated, and oil the chain as necessary. For best results, Mighty Mule recommends using specially formulated chain and cable lubricants.

9. Check the gear sprockets and grease them as needed.

10. Check the rollers and spray oil on them as needed.
