Buffets are a popular style of restaurant, especially in the southern United States.
According to records dating as far back as 1748, the first settlers in what is now the town of Sylacauga, Alabama were Native Americans. In fact, the name Sylacauga is derived from the Native American words Chalaka-ge, which means the place of the Chalaka tribe. Today, Sylacauga is a thriving township. Though there is only one buffet restaurant in Sylacauga proper, more are located only a short drive away.

For an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet of fried chicken, black-eyed peas, cornbread and other down-home country style cooking within Sylacauga city limits, there is no better (or other, for that matter) place to go than Mama Ree's Restaurant, Inc, located along Highway 280.
Bernie's on Main St.
About 30 miles to the west of Sylacauga, the town of Colombiana offers the gourmet stylings of Bernie's on Main St. In addition to the down-home buffet, Bernie's has a menu full of steaks, burgers and other classic American dishes.
Green Garden Chinese Restaurant
Just 26 miles southeast of Sylacauga is Green Garden Chinese, an Alexander City restaurant that offers a lunch buffet of Chinese food staples such as egg rolls, sweet and sour pork and chicken chow mein.
City Buffet
Also located in Alexander City, the appropriately named City Buffet offers an all-you-can-eat extravaganza of more than 100 American, Chinese and seafood dishes, as well as beer, wine and other beverages.
